We were in SLO for the weekend and had some activities scheduled at Avila Beach so we went here for brunch. I had the Fat Cat Benedict with Lobster! Sooo good. Service was great and we were accommodated despite having a party of 8. (call ahead and reserve if you have a large party!) but this place is a must go/must eat at place in the SLO area! 5 stars for sure!

The service was excellent. The food took some time to arrive, but that was worth the wait. The burger I ordered was well cooked, and the bacon was crisp. The fries were great. They came out hot and fresh. I only wish it came with a little more salt.

Fat Cats is our first stop for breakfast when we visit Avila. The Seafood omelet is a must. The homemade cinnamon rolls are also a winner. We also stopped by for dinner one evening and ordered the daily specials fresh halibut with mango salsa and fresh Ling cod fish and chips. The halibut was moist and grilled perfectly. The mango salsa totally made the dish. We also enjoyed the fish and chips. The service is always excellent. Go early on the weekends for breakfast to beat the lines.

Visited for the first time this morning. I am celiac and vegetarian, and the staff were amazing helping me find something I could eat! My group ordered a variety of different items, and everybody was very happy and very full by the end of the meal. Portions were very generous, and staff members all went above and beyond to make our experience great! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

The omelette was ok. Too bad that the coffee is not included with the brunch.

Good food and relaxing atmosphere, They have both inside and outdoor dining. Was not much of a wait time and good views of the ocean and boats. We jave been there several times an never disappointed. Will be going back next time in town.

Such great food, great service and a really great price! It's not too often yu find a real gem of a place to eat when you are "going where the locals go" but this is the real deal. Everything we had over the course of a few days stay up the road at Sycamore Hot Springs brought us here for breakfast once and it was so good we went here for every breakfast. The food is traditional American cafe fare, but there are also a few other hidden gems such as the machaca and eggs and plenty of hot sauce available. I bought a Fat Cats mug for my mom since they offer merch. The place is filled with all sorts of cats like statues and framed art, but it's really just a cute Spanish colonial building with a big patio pretty much at the foot of the last pier in Avila Beach at Port San Luis. You don't to miss this place if you are going for an early golf outing nearby or you are staying in town to get away from it all. Enjoy!

Great food, I had the crab cake sandwich and hubby had the seafood Philly. Both delicious! Sat inside, Fat Cats was busy with a waiting list. Love coming here when we are in the area. Will definitely be back.

Food was great, always is. But our waiter was apparently pretty busy so our order wasn't entirely correct. Given 3 meals when we only ordered 2 among other things.
But the food is delicious. Just be patient, I'm hoping our waiter was just new.

Here is a secrete spot. Local people recommended this place to us. Worthy price with gigantic size! Good views outside to enjoy brunch! We had shrimp toco, sea food omelette, basic breakfast and Nacho. They are really good! Highly recommend to spend a whole morning here! Fantastic.
