Coffee is tasty black, chai tea is yum yums and the black cake is to die for. It’s hands down the best vegan cake I ever tried from a bakery. Art inside and out is immaculate, staff is friendly and even told us how we could get a free pastry on our birthday at the Coronado. Highly recommend this place to everyone

While vegan options are becoming more plentiful in Phoenix, finding GOOD and reasonably priced vegan options is still somewhat an anomaly. Dark Hall puts care an attention into what they offer. Their employees are nice and have excellent customer service.

I purchased three pastries during my visit. 1) The plum cake was moist and not too sweet. The jam was made in house and they were not stingy with it at all. 2) The blueberry and basil galette was perfect. The pastry itself was just what you would want to complement the amazing pairing of the blueberry jam (also made in house) and the basil which appeared both fresh and infused in sugar. 3) The earl grey macaron unfortunately I felt was too sweet. I had a hard time getting the flavor over the (what seemed to be) shortening based icing in the middle. I would have preferred a thin layer of jam instead. However the texture was just like I remember from before I went vegan so in that regard alone they get full points.

I ordered a large cold brew with cashew milk. The size was relative to many other coffee shops, and at around $4/4.50 is what you would expect from a higher end coffee shop. At first I didn’t like the coffee, it tasted almost sour/burnt on first try. However, having been sipping it for about a half hour the flavor has mellowed out and I’m a big fan. The cashew milk itself doesn’t particularly come through. Cashews themselves being relatively mild I’m not surprised. I do enjoy that it is made in house as well though.

Definitely, 100% would recommend anyone trying Dark Hall. Particularly in the morning as it was quiet and cozy. I would have loved to have stayed to enjoy my breakfast there.

P.S. to the individual who gave them one star for not having carb/sugar free options...it’s a bakery. What did you expect? Also there’s absolutely nothing wrong with black coffee.

This place hasn't been open long, but they already have the feel of an established hang-out for the neighborhood. Their galettes are amazing, and I kind of worry about the amount of weight I'm going to gain because it's rare that I find a place with desserts I can eat (allergies!), and their treats are so good! Thank goodness they have tea, too!

But seriously, the owners are fantastic and deeply care about their community. Their other space (the Coronado) has constant fundraisers for community members and I've always felt and seen everyone from every walk of life welcomed in & served with respect.

My best friend sends me their bagged coffee every now and then and it is so delicious! The confessional is hands down my favorite coffee! It is so smooth and full of flavor! I can’t wait to get some more!

I'm not normally into espresso drinks but I grabbed an americano here and it was absolutely delightful. A testament to this place and Xanadu, where they source their beans from. Customer service was also excellent.

Dark Hall is absolutely fantastic. Fresh pastry, delicious coffee, friendly staff. Not to mention the gorgeous design. I’m not even vegan, but that oat milk latte is in my top 5 best lattes!

The people that work here are very kind, genuine, and super fast at producing beverages. I like that they ask customers to be masked as it shows that ownership cares about the folks working behind the counter. Great shop all around!

Cute atmosphere theme but coffee/ tea was ehh. We got a chai latte and a dark mocha latte with oat milk and both were not finished. Service was nice and their bakery items looked good but don't think we will be back for lattes.

First, love the gothic feel to the Caiden shop. The cashier was lovely so I asked her to make me her favorite drink, it was a coffee ( with oat milk and caramel with a chocolate twist). Best first time experience.

Dark Hall always has the most unique specials of any coffee shop in Phoenix. For those who are less adventurous, they still have great coffee (seriously great). Hands down my favorite thing about Dark Hall are the amazing vegan cakes! I will go out of my way if I see a delicious cake on their Instagram.
