Coffee only review visited 5/23 1pm:

Short review: nice stout coffee. Just know if they make an error with your coffee don't expect it to be fixed. Enjoy drinking a cinnamon coffee you didn't order and not the hazelnut latte you paid $6 for.

Long Review:
We ordered 2 hot 16oz lattes: one hazelnut and the other plain. We ended up getting two plain lattes. I stir both just to see if maybe the hazelnut was hiding...but they tasted exactly the same. Just a side note...I don't order a complicated drink. It literally is just a latte with hazelnut syrup...no special milks... no special sugars. That's it. We let them know that both lattes were prepared the same. Not a big deal just asked to get the hazelnut added in. They took the latte and gave it two pumps of something.... But let me tell you it definitely was not hazelnut. It literally tasted like a cinnamon latte.
So I ended up drinking something I didn't order and really didn't like. I would be hesitant to go to this location again.

The coffee was really good. I like mine sweet and was not disappointed (even the dark chocolate is sweet). Both hot and cold orders tasted about the same and I was thrilled they had oat milk. The cashier told me the milk wouldn't effect the latte art but you can judge for yourself. She did have helpful recommendations and offered me a mug rather than a paper cup, which I enjoy for the aesthetic.
Do note that it is pretty crowded and you'll likely have trouble securing seating. This is downtown so good luck finding parking, it'll be paid

Great coffee and service!
The barista was super friendly, and she made a great raspberry mocha latte. A lot of the flavors are made in house, so I had to treat myself ☕️

I look forward to stopping in again next time I’m in town.

I had high hopes for this place. The drinks sounded delicious and the reviews were fantastic.

I came in and ordered the Fireman's mocha (hot & spicy, according to the menu) with light ice. The drink that I was given looked full of ice at the top, but I doubted myself and didn't question it.
The mocha itself tasted good, but there was no heat or spice to it and when I was done with it, there was still at least half a cup of ice, so I know that this was definitely not "light ice".

Oh well. At least it wasn't a terrible mocha.

11/3/22: What a cozy establishment. Super friendly staff and unique brews that you don't get anywhere else. Seasonal flavors too. The inside was warm and inviting. Very homey feeling. Can't wait to come back in the summer to see what the back looks like.

One of my fiancé and my favorite coffee shops. We’ve gone to Late for the Train since 2011. We have been to all of their shops but now that they only have one, we frequent it often. The employees are always kind and make all of their drinks with care. You can not go wrong with any of their drinks. They always have delicious baked goods as well as breakfast burritos. Their back patio at their current location is gorgeous with vines and trees. One of our favorite coffee shops in AZ.

Late for the train - what a great excuse to grab a cup of coffee! Especially when the coffee is tasty! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Although the espresso beans (portofino) isn’t what I was looking for, I was very happy to bring a bag of Colombia back to NYC! It was used for cold brew in the shop, and I was able to extract an amazing of cup espresso, with thick crema and intense fruity sweetness.

Late for the Train is a Classic Café! I love the community here, the baristas remember your face and your order (if you are a regular here), and the environment is very uplifting.

I can get my work done here, grab a nice latte and be on my way!

Good stop if you’re in Flagstaff or even if you want to have their community at home, their coffee beans are available online and it is easy to get in touch with them.

My parter and I stopped at Late For the Train as we were heading out of Flagstaff and wish we could have gone again! The atmosphere was bright and cozy and the staff was wildly friendly. We ordered a vanilla latte and an espresso shot - both were so delicious! Although we didn't have any pasteries, they looked absolutely magnificent. With bright big windows, lots of seating, and views of downtown Flagstaff, we would have made Late For the Train our home had we stayed in AZ for longer!

If fall were a coffee shop, this would be it.

Late for the Train Cafe has all the mountain town vibes, delicious coffee & pastries, free WiFi and a picturesque outdoor courtyard framed by Aspen trees. It also has the slightly higher prices, but I don't mind - wrap me in cinnamon-scented flannel and take my money.

Side note: Street parking is hard to find, but there are plenty of paid parking lots downtown.
