Agave Grill

Such a great local place to grab a beer. We go here regularly when we are camping in the area. They have a good beer selection, a bar and yummy comfort food.

Delicious Asian Fusion Food. Have to try the burgers.

I rarely write reviews, but everything about this restaurant has compelled me. I will admit, I was skeptical when I first walked in. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon (even at roughly 3pm) and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Once we got a seat and had a chance to interact with the staff, however, it was clear this restaurant was special.

We ordered burgers for the kids and my wife and I split a chicken sandwich and onion rings, along with some (not split) beers and wine. As we waited for our food to arrive, we got to see the staff interact with the clientele and their employees. Without going into too much detail, we were incredibly impressed with how friendly, neighborly and compassionate they were — so much so that my daughter commented “I like going to restaurants where the owners have good hearts” on our ride home.

Beyond that, the food was terrific. My son called the burger a “top 3” of all time — and he eats a few burgers every week. We reminded him that the little bit of a wait we had between placing our order and the food arriving (which wasn’t outrageous, but had frustrated him due to his hunger), was in fact the reason why the food was so delicious. It was made to order and prepared with care and with good ingredients.

After the meal we chatted with the owner and had a very friendly and personable exchange. But the kicker came hours later. I realized back in Phoenix that my credit card was not in my wallet. I called Agave Grill after it closed and confirmed with the owner that my card was dropped as we were leaving. He thanked me again for my visit and asked for my address to send me the card in the mail.

Whether or not you are interested in, or get a chance to, have an interaction with ownership at Agave Grill 2, it’s an absolute gem in Ajo, with fantastic food and a solid wine/beer list. The people you’ll meet are even better.

Had high hopes based on other reviews. Expected slow service, but expected really good food. Waited a long time for the meal to come out. Asked for burger to not be well done; it was well done. Fries were a lukewarm pile of grease. Mentioned that the fries were not hot and they gladly brought hot ones... But they were quite greasy. Disappointing.

Not very clean. The cook had no mask,hair net, or gloves. This place dose not practice or follow the AZ health code. This place is dirty. Slow, unfriendly service. Food is not be very good. The hot dogs at circle ⭕ k are way better than this place. Way over priced.

We were there today, May 7th at 4 pm. Not many people there and we hadn't eaten since breakfast, so we were hungry. There were 4 people at the little bar area and one older man who left as we came in. We were seated right away at a table and it didn't take us long to decide what we wanted. We waited as an older woman helped a carryout order, and the young woman who seated us cleaned the other table. No one asked us if we would like to order a drink or at least some water. I waved at the girl who sat us and said that we were ready to order. She stated that "she would be right there." motioning towards the older woman.I looked at my watch and we had been there for about 20 minutes and the older woman simply moved farther down the bar and stood talking to the people . She was in no hurry to serve us. So, I figured she didn't need the business and we left. No food, no drink, no order taken. Save your money for Rocky Point, as the restaurants there don't disappoint

This has become my hands down favorite place to eat.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Agave Grill and it did'nt disappoint! The service was top rate and not what you would expect from a small town establishment. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived and the greeter was warm and smiling. There was no waiting time and our order was equally as fast. The salad was fresh and the steak was tender and cooked exactly as I wanted. I could go on about what I liked about this place, but this is not a commercial. I will say our server, Eric was a great waiter and with the good music and conversation with him, I felt almost as I had know him a lifetime. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good food, good price and good atmosphere...

The food was great, and the staff was friendly! You can tell that Eric, the owner, is passionate about serving great quality food with great service. We will definitely make this a regular part of our return trips from Puerto Peñasco!

Great atmosphere and cheeseburger was delicious! It had a grilled buttery bun and fresh vegetables. Onion rings were awesome! Can’t wait to go back thru Ajo on our travels. Great price as well! Highly recommend the service and the clean restrooms. You can see right into the kitchen and it’s very clean and orderly!
