What a wonderful project of passion. Some of the most delicious food in Alaska. Beautiful atmosphere. Many delicious alternative choices, vegan, gluten free, HEALTHY. Highly recommended. Try the golden milk, I suggest alternative milk too!
Brought wrong order. When right one was made the taste was off on the veggies (bitter), potatoes had burnt spots, and sauce (which is normally thick) was runny with out mushroom flavor. Have had issues in the past with poor service but would go back for the food. this time the food wasnt good and the whole experience very unsatisfying.
From delicious, reasonably priced food to extremely generous and helpful workers I loved pretty much everything about this place when I went to visit Palmer. It stood out from the rest of the places I ate at during my trip and I can't say I've ever been treated so well by workers, even the cute (Asian) dishwasher treated me as if she was a waiter herself. If I ever come back to visit Palmer I know exactly where to go for food. ;)
This is the second time I've eaten at Turkey Red and both times were disappointing. Food was so-so, grilled chicken on salad very dry and hamburger also dry. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. Seems odd to automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill without input from the customers. How about the owner paying his employees a living wage so the public doesn't have to supplement their income?
Perhaps our favorite 'valley' dinner destination, the food and service has always been great. The atmosphere is somewhat casual, but not what I would describe as 'Alaskan casual'. We tried brunch once, but found the breakfast menu uninspired.
We stopped here after working up an appetite at Arkose brewery (just a couple minutes away from Turkey Red). I loved the hot roast beef sandwich (I forgot the name they called it), and the soup of the day was sesame pork. Make sure you get ask for some of the creamy horseradish sauce that they serve with the cold roast beef sandwich - it is fantastic and goes great on the hot sandwich.
The soup was fantastic - rich clearish broth with a lot of flavor, hunks of carrot, onions, garlic, strings of pork and some parsley on top, cooked with sesame oil to give it a really nice flavor. I wasn't sure what sesame pork soup would taste like but I really liked it!
Parking was easy in the free parking lot or some free street parking was available as well. They also had some books near the front to keep all ages occupied - my favorite was the Where's Waldo book!
Always had good experiences here but.... found a long hair cooked into my burger this last time. Was replaced with a salad, but was still charged full price for the meal.

I came in here on a cold rainy day and warmed up with some of their soups, coffee, and bread - all of which were delicious
