Great breakfast with friendly service. Appreciated by a couple of Brits looking for a breakfast just a little bit like at home.

The Sockeye Salmon Scramble was one of the most amazing breakfasts I've ever had. WOW! Service was not fast, but it was worth every second of waiting.

Says bakery on the front, and while it does have food, there are no baked goods. I got the chai tea, and it was a terrible tasting syrup from a jug mixed with milk. The concept of this place is nice, it reminds me of a cafe in old San Francisco, but not executed very well. And I'm sure the location next to the downtown bus station makes for an uneasy atmosphere, and limits enough business that this cafe can't quite hit the mark.

If you're waiting for a bus it's not bad, but otherwise not worth seeking out.

Had a great breakfast here of Homemade Blueberry Muffins warm out if the oven.

Breakfast special was delicious. Bacon & potatoes great flavor. Real scrambled eggs! Ask for their homemade jam. They may have difficulty serving a crowd quickly

Possibly the BIGGEST sandwiches Alaska has to offer and OMG are they good! Seriously! Cafe 817 NEVER disappoints! :)

Huge muffins with fresh blueberries, and delicious bacon and spinach quiche. We were crunched for time as we had to catch a bus, and they got us in and out quickly. Highly recommended!

Food was great but service was horrible. The guy working the counter was rude and standoffish, instead of telling me what kind of coffee they had he pointed to the machine, and when I told him (after 8 minutes of waiting) just to forget about the quiche because my bus was leaving, he replied "you know what? bus has never left anyone before." And continued. I had to run to the bus because it was pulling out as I exited the cafe.

This place is awesome. Super genuine decor, fantastic service, and most importantly, delicious food. Good price. Best way to eat eggs and drink beer in downtown.
