The Hatter Cafe

The total experience was incredible. The tea was so delicious (apple cinnamon) and the food was awesome. I had Grit cakes with pulled pork and slaw. The Meatloaf was delicious also. They treat you like royalty.

My husband and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway. On a whim I booked the Mentone Dreams Suite at The Hatter Cafe. So glad I did. This place was an absolute dream. The decor is adorable and the Alice in Wonderland theme is so well done and very detailed. The owners have not missed one thing. From a wonderful fresh breakfast complete with the coolest coffee machine ever to the fluffy robes and wonderful private hot tub, we could not have had a more pleasant experience. The owners were super caring and want you to feel like you’re at home while you are there. They are also super responsive and very helpful with suggestions of local places to visit and parks to check out. I highly recommend this superb bed and breakfast. We will be back!

We rented the royal suite for a fall break mommy&me adventure. Every single person on staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts in the cafe, and tea service, were a perfect start to each day. We spent our days hiking and exploring local shops, and ended each day with s'mores at the fire pit or time in the hottub. This has been one of our favorite adventures, and we're already planning our next stay-and we haven't left yet! We will definitely this hidden gem to our friends and family❤️

The hour and a half wait outweighed the food. The food was good and we loved the atmosphere and the service, but for whatever reason it took about an hour to get our food.

Service is friendly, aesthetic is so so cute, and food is delicious. It was so nice to share a pot of delicious tea with friends. Don't forget about the strawberry shortcake.

My mom and I went to this little place today and it was worth it!!! She had the Meatloaf Pie and I had the Hot Brown and both were amazing. I loved the atmosphere of this place. The owner came around and talked with us a few times and our waitress was amazing as well she was so super friendly and attentive. You can't beat the atmosphere. It is definitely one of those places you want to go in and sit and just talk and spend time with whoever your with. It's awesome that they fix their food from scratch. The decorations is to cute. I would definitely recommend trying this place and I know I will be back.

My fiancé Gene and I spent the last two days at this wonderful place and it’s hard to put into words how much we both loved it!!! From the perfect decorations, delicious food at the cafe, the Royal Suite which was absolutely adorable (the hot tub on the private deck was so relaxing and perfect on a cold night)…the suite was spotless clean and had everything we needed and then some….the hospitality of the staff who we prefer to call our new friends…Paige, Melissa, and Roger especially!!!! Seriously everything about this place exceeded every expectation we had by far 😊 Defiantly don’t have anything like this in Birmingham and we already can’t wait to return. Best weekend ever!
