The Toasted Yolk Cafe-Dothan

Authentic Southern Charm! My wife and I were in Dothan for a family reunion. Neither of us had ever been to Dothan before. Finding this place was an unexpected blessing. From the moment we entered, we were met with big smiles and warm regards reminiscent of extended family rather than a business. The atmosphere is much like a casual diner rather than a fast food spot. Much of there menu is geared towards Soul Food. I definitely recommend the brunch. Our first day, my wife and the Shrimp and Grits with the Paloma. I had the Southwest Power Bowl with the Sangria. Deliciousness! The shrimp was plump, juicy, and fresh. The freshness of the seafood makes all the difference, especially for those who can taste previously frozen shrimp. The grits were served hot and cheesy. My power bowl had all the good healthy things, kale, quinoa, bulgur wheat, tomatoes, and chicken sausage. The second day was even better. My wife got the Southern Arnold, which is a Fried Chicken Strip Benedict, and I head the Cajun Turkey Arnold, which is a Cajun Turkey Benedict. I don't want to make this post too long, but they were even tastier than day one, a must try. The staff were all smiles and extremely kind. You'll just have to experience it for yourself.

Racheal, is an amazing, attentive young lady. It was really hard to believe it was only her second day. As for the food... I ordered shrimp and grits were delicious. My husband ordered Big Ben omelet, which he seem to enjoy because he cleared his plate. We will be back.

We were fortunate enough to find this great new restaurant the 2nd day it was open. Don't walk, RUN to get there! From food to drinks to staff, everything was fabulous! The manager caught all my "yummy" faces and came straight over to welcome us. Loved everything we ordered but seriously make sure to try the churro style donuts, served warm with caramel sauce. Oh and all sauces and dressings are housemade. You'll want to put their hollandaise sauce on everything!!

Delicious breakfast. The French toast was perfect. Coffee is hot and fresh. Husband ordered the pancakes, they are huge and delicious. Finally found a great breakfast restaurant! All the staff are friendly and happy to be there. Look forward to returning.

Faith did a great job serving us! She was super helpful! Got us what we wanted when we wanted it. The food was delicious !! Drinks were great!!

As soon as you enter the building you are immediately greeted. Brittany was a awesome server. She was attentive to our needs. I purchased the soup and salad and was undecided on which soup to get. She suggested the chicken tortilla soup which was amazingly great and complimented the Strawberry Field Salad.

I feel like this place could have been very good, the food other people were getting looked good. I came here with my girlfriend, and we ordered 2 orders of the crepes. We sat there for an hour, with nobody ever talking to us. The owner/manager comes out and tells us there was some sort of miscommunication in the kitchen. We have no idea what actually happened, but there could have been way more communication with us as we were in the dark just waiting on our food, for an hour. We got free donuts in compensation and a card for free crepes on our next visit, although I don’t see myself returning after this poor experience of communication. The donuts are very good though, there’s a layer on top of the caramel sauce which is unappetizing, but other than that they’re great!

Had an excellent experience today for breakfast. Faith had the best customer service, and was so friendly and accommodating! The brisket tacos and watermelon mimosa were fantastic. Will definitely be back!

I’m from Texas and never tried this place out till I came to Dothan. The server Faith was so knowledgeable about the menu items. The cook Vincent even took time to prepare a lunch item that I wanted. Hands down I’ll be back.

Mara was fantastic!! The food was amazing and the service better! The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get! Definitely will be back and asking for Mara!
